This Privacy Policy explains how MutatedStudios handles information when you use the MutatedStudios website, community features, support services, and Solar Rift Guardians. It also explains the choices available to you.
1. Who we are
MutatedStudios is the developer and operator of Solar Rift Guardians and the MutatedStudios website. Privacy questions can be sent to DerkaDecay@gmail.com or through our contact page.
2. Information handled by Solar Rift Guardians
Local game data
Game progress, settings, audio preferences, unlocks and similar save information may be stored locally on your device. Local data normally remains on the device unless an online feature described below sends specific information to MutatedStudios.
Global leaderboard data
When the global leaderboard is used, the game may send a persistent game-generated player identifier, your chosen display name, score, wave, run duration, platform, game version, submission identifier and submission time. MutatedStudios may also keep a cryptographic hash of the submitted payload and a one-way hash derived from the network address used for the submission. These security records help prevent replay attacks, rate-limit abuse, investigate suspicious scores and protect leaderboard integrity.
The public leaderboard may display your chosen display name, rank, score, wave, run duration, platform, game version and the time the entry was updated. Do not use your real name as a display name unless you want it shown publicly.
Advertising
Solar Rift Guardians uses, or is being prepared to use, Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK for rewarded and interstitial advertising. Depending on your device, location, consent choices and Google settings, Google and its advertising partners may process information such as device or advertising identifiers, IP address and approximate location derived from it, ad impressions and interactions, app interactions, diagnostics, fraud-prevention signals and consent status. Google acts under its own privacy terms and controls.
Where required, the game may present consent or privacy choices before requesting personalised advertising. You can learn more from the Google Privacy Policy and Google's explanation of data used by partner apps and sites.
Google Play purchases
If Google Play Billing is enabled and you buy a digital item, Google Play processes the payment. MutatedStudios does not receive your complete payment-card details. We may receive purchase status, product identifiers, transaction or purchase tokens, timestamps and refund or revocation information needed to deliver, restore and protect purchases.
3. Website, account and community information
If you register or use the website, we may store information you provide, including your display name, username, email address, password hash, profile details, avatar, forum posts, direct messages, support-chat content, uploaded attachments and activity timestamps. Administrators may also keep moderation status, internal support notes and audit records.
Contact forms and data-deletion requests may collect your name, email address, game, player identifier, request details and technical security information needed to prevent spam, confirm ownership and process the request.
Cookies and similar storage
The website uses essential session and authentication cookies or tokens to keep accounts signed in, protect forms and provide private messaging. Browser storage may also be used for guest help-chat continuity and preferences. Embedded media or third-party services may receive technical information when you load or interact with them.
4. How we use information
- Operate the game, website, accounts, forums, private messaging, support and leaderboards.
- Display and maintain leaderboard rankings and player-selected names.
- Save preferences, respond to messages and process deletion or privacy requests.
- Provide, measure and protect advertising and, when enabled, digital purchases.
- Detect spam, fraud, cheating, abuse, security incidents and unauthorised access.
- Maintain records, troubleshoot faults, improve performance and comply with legal obligations.
Depending on where you live, the legal basis for processing may include providing the service you requested, your consent, MutatedStudios' legitimate interests in operating and securing its services, and compliance with legal obligations.
5. When information is shared
Information may be shared only as reasonably necessary with:
- Google, including AdMob, Google Mobile Ads, Google Play and Google Play Billing.
- Hostinger and infrastructure providers that host the website, database, files and security systems.
- Technical, legal, accounting or support providers acting for MutatedStudios under appropriate obligations.
- Authorities or other parties when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to investigate fraud and abuse.
- A successor operator if the studio or relevant assets are reorganised, sold or transferred, subject to appropriate notice and protection.
MutatedStudios does not sell or rent personal information as a standalone product. Advertising providers may use information for advertising purposes as explained in their own policies and according to applicable consent choices.
6. International processing
MutatedStudios operates from Australia, while service providers may process or store information in other countries. Privacy protections and government-access rules can differ between countries. We use reputable providers and take reasonable steps to protect information handled on our behalf.
7. Retention
- Local game saves remain until they are reset, cleared or removed from the device.
- Leaderboard entries remain while the leaderboard is operated unless they are removed, hidden, anonymised or deleted following a valid request.
- Score-submission, rate-limit, audit and security records may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to prevent abuse, resolve disputes, protect the service and meet legal obligations.
- Website account and community information is retained while the account or content is needed. Some posts may be anonymised rather than removed when deletion is necessary to preserve conversation structure or lawful records.
- Support, contact and deletion-request records are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for support, security, legal and record-keeping purposes.
8. Security
MutatedStudios uses measures such as password hashing, access controls, encrypted transport, request signing, rate limiting, audit logs and restricted administration tools. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so you should use a unique password and avoid sending sensitive information through public posts or display names.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or a copy of information associated with you. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Advertising choices can be changed through any privacy-options screen made available in the game and through your Android or Google account settings.
To request deletion of website-account, game-profile, leaderboard or related information, use the MutatedStudios data-deletion page. We may ask for reasonable information to verify ownership before changing or deleting records.
10. Children
MutatedStudios does not knowingly request that children submit real names, contact details or other sensitive information through Solar Rift Guardians. Website accounts, forums and messaging should be used only by people able to consent under applicable law or with the involvement of a parent or guardian. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information that should be reviewed or removed.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the game, website, advertising, payment systems or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted at this address with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be announced through the website, game or store listing.
